Psych-rock influenced cosmic coalition Michigan Left, originally hailing from Detroit, recently released their second full-length studio album, Capsize. Formed back in 2017 by frontman Josh Slater, Capsize is the awaited follow up to their 2018 debut Nothing Is to Color.

Expertly showcasing their impressive talents, Capsize boasts a vibrant and limitless soundscape throughout, but is no more present than on the thrilling title-track “Capsize” . With unique instrumentations and playful conversations filtered throughout, the entire LP hosts a refreshing and youthful atmosphere. From the melodic ballad, “Grey”, to the chaotically energetic of “Faux Undertow” and “Current Trends”, Michigan Left’s latest offering is a musical melting pot with an array of sonic influences that has culminated in a deeply dynamic and endlessly captivating anthemic album.

Having spent a number of years working on towards this release Michigan Left have delved deep into many obscure musical genres ranging from Space Rock to Disco, influences you can clearly hear throughout Capsize. Recent singles, “Faux Undertow” and “Sly” has seen the raucous rockers be compared to numerous Neo-Psych artists such as King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Post Animal, The War on Drugs and Flaming Lips.

With charming and enticing vibes at the heart of every track Capsize is is an undeniably captivating listen.
