Alex Lahey and Gordi Release Palehouse Cover and Donate Proceeds to Indigenous LGBTIQ+ Community

Earlier this year, Australian musicians Alex Lahey and Gordi released their collaborative track, “Dino’s.” Today, they present their performance of the song for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s #PlayAtHome series. “Dino’s,” which follows Lahey’s The Best Of Luck Club, her most recent album on Dead Oceans, and Gordi’s Our Two Skins, released last year on Jagjaguwar, is inspired by the East Nashville dive bar of the same name, which the two both frequent on visits to the city. The pair bring its evocative and playful qualities to the stage, performing in the same setting as the track’s original music video, Dolly Parton cutout and all. Lahey and Gordi’s dynamic musicianship is further strengthened by a full band featuring Bec Goring (guitar), Jess Ellwood (drums), and Mimi Gilbert (bass). Fellow Australian musician Julia Jacklin makes a guest appearance on synth.

In conjunction with Bandcamp’s 2nd annual Juneteenth fundraiser this past Friday (where Bandcamp donated 100% of its share of sales to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund) Alex and Gordi are thrilled to share a special remix of “Dino’s” by Palehound. For this Bandcamp-only release, 100% of artist proceeds for the rest of the month of June will be donated to Black Rainbow - an organization supporting the Indigenous Australian LGBTIQ+ community.
